I have dry skin. What is the best tan for me?

For dry skin, the most recommended product to use is our Self Tan Lotion. This is due to it having the highest level of hydrating ingredients in it. It contains 84% Aloe Vera Leaf Juice which leaves skin hydrated, radiant and ensures a smooth, even finish every time.

I have fair skin. What is the best tan for me?

We advise the Self Tan Oil which is 8% DHA and light and natural. It can be applied 1-2 a week for a light or medium colour pay off. Alternatively you can use the Firming Gradual for a light buildable tan with firming actives perfect for anti-ageing and firming the skin with regular use. Both products have ZERO TRANFER onto clothes or sheets and do not need to be showered off.

Is TanOrganic Safe to use while pregnant?

As TanOrganic is free from all nasties, including synthetic ingredients, parabens and alcohol, we are the preferred tan to use while pregnant. All our products are bursting with natural and organic ingredients that will add to your pregnancy glow!

Is it safe to use if I have eczema?

Yes, our tanning products are safe to use if you have skin conditions like eczema, psoriasis, or dermatitis. As with all beauty products, it is highly recommended to conduct a patch test at least 24 hours before applying the product to your full body. If you experience any reaction or discomfort, please do not continue to use this product and contact our customer care team as soon as possible.

What is DHA and why is it used in your products?

DHA  is scientifically known as dihydroxyacetone and is classified as a sugar and comes from organic beet extract. 

When applied to the skin, a reaction occurs between amino acids and the outermost skin layer, the stratum corneum, to produce a brown color or tan.

Will the product streak?

No, our products don’t streak but make sure you prep the skin well before use, exfoliate and don’t moisturise prior to application. Use a mitt for best results.

What is the difference between the Self Tan Lotion and the Self Tan Oil?

Self Tan Oil is a lightweight, clear oil that gives a light, natural result. Self Tan Lotion is made of Aloe Vera leaf juice making it a bit thicker than the oil. Additionally, the Lotion has a colour guide made of Beetroot and Caramel that would need to be showered off after the development time is reached. 

I have never used self tan before. What is the best tan for me?

Is TanOrganic safe to use while undergoing Chemotherapy?

As TanOrganic is completely chemical free and has no nasty ingredients or colourings, we are the preferred tanning range to use when undergoing drug therapy. We are a dermatologist-recommended self tan brand and our skin-loving products and ingredients improve your well-being and confidence at every stage of life. 

How is TanOrganic packaged? Is it sustainable?

We are as kind to your skin as we are to the planet. We use completely recyclable packaging on all our products! However, sometimes our couriers’ packaging requirements force us to use resources outside of this realm. We don't have the power to change this, and unfortunately, there is no other way of getting our products into your hands! Will TanOrganic suit my Skin Type?

Good news - Our product range is specially formulated for all skin types and complexions, and they’re ideal for those with sensitive or dry skin. We use ingredients that hydrate, nourish and heal the skin, so our products can also be used on those suffering from skin conditions such as psoriasis or eczema.

How long will the tan last on my skin?

By following the preparation and the correct maintenance instructions, your tan could last between 7-10 days. Following these instructions will also ensure that you have the perfect fade off every time, without patches.

How long will a bottle of tan last me?

A full-size bottle of our Self Tan products should last approx. 1 month, depending on how much and how frequently you use it. On average, you should use between 25-30mls of product for a full-body application. When applying, please follow the instructions carefully and ensure to use the correct glove to ensure a smooth, even finish every time.

Is the tan sticky?

Self Tan Oil is a lightweight, non-greasy, body oil that absorbs instantly and is dry to the touch within minutes. Once dry, there will be no stickiness.

With our products that have a colour guide (Self Tan Lotion & Mousse Products), you may experience some stickiness until its completely dry. This is due to our tan having no alcohol, drying agents or parabens in it and the colour guide been made of natural ingredients.

What known allergens are contained in your products?

The most common allergy that people have to most Self Tan is with Dihydroxyacetone (DHA). This is the tanning active used in sunless tanners. Our version is derived from Sugar Beets and 99.99% of people do not have any reaction to our ingredients. Some of our products contain a small amount of D-Limonene which his also a know allergen for some people. Most of our products are nut-free, but some contain Sweet Almond Oil, which may be a trigger for people with a severe nut allergy.

As always, we would highly insist on reading the ingredients carefully and NOT using our product if you are allergic to any of them. Additionally, is highly recommended that a patch test be conducted 24-48 hours before application to ensure that there is no reaction to any of its ingredients. If a reaction occurs, please seek medical advice and bring the product you used with you to your appointment.

Will your products stain my bed linen or clothes?

As our Self Tan Oil is a lightweight oil that absorbs quickly and dry to the touch within minutes, it will not transfer onto your bed linen or clothes.

With our Self Tan Lotion or Mousse products, there may be some transfer due to the colour guide we use. As we are natural and organic, our colour guide is made of Food Grade ingredients (Caramel & Beetroot). If you do happen to have transfer onto your linen, this is easily washed out by following the washing instructions on the linen.

How do I apply TanOrganic fake tan?

Looking for the ‘glow down’ on achieving the perfect tan? You’ve come to the right place. Follow our tips below to get gorgeous, glowing skin every time. 

  • The key to the perfect tan is exfoliating! Be sure to scrub off any dead skin in the shower before applying tan. 
  • It’s important to moisturise any dry areas (usually elbows, knees, feet etc) before applying tan to stop it from building up and sticking to these troublesome areas. 
  • Apply the tan in circular motions to avoid streaks. It usually helps to do two layers to ensure you don’t miss any areas. Let your tan dry before getting dressed, then wash off 4-8 hours later to reveal a streak free, flawless finish.
  • For first-time users, we recommend doing a patch test at least 48 hours before a full application.

What happens if I have a Reaction?

All our products are combined with hydrating, natural, and organic ingredients which are nourishing to all skin types, including sensitive skin. We recommend that you do a patch test 48 hours before applying tan to ensure you don’t get a reaction. However, in the rare case that you have a skin reaction, we wouldn't want it to go unnoticed. Please send an email to info@tanorganic.com with all the information about your reaction, including a picture, and we will get back to you shortly.

What are the differences in the shades?

Get your desired colour first time around! 

We currently have five core tanning products, from light to dark bronze glow. 

  • The Self-tan Oil leaves your skin with a light glow
  • The Firming Gradual Self Tan Cream leaves your skin with a light glow
  • The Self-tan Lotion leaves your skin with a medium glow
  • The Instant Tan leaves your skin with an instant medium glow
  • The Self-tan Mousse leaves your skin with a medium-dark glow

All products can be layered on for more coverage and a deeper colour.

How long will it last before it goes off?

Once opened, it is recommended that you use the product within 12 months from this time. After 12 months, the product will not do any harm but may not be effective. If you any questions on the quality of your, please contact our customer care team with the batch code from the base of your bottle for further information.

How do I recycle my bottle?

All our packaging is 100% recyclable. Please see below how to recycle the packaging and its components. Please note that this is subject to change and please check with your Local Authority/Waste Management company for any updates or changes to regulation:

My shipping address is not recongised. What should I do?

From time to time, you may experience an issue with placing an order on our website which shows an error "Unable to ship to your current location. This is a technical error that is under continuous investigation. If you do receive this error, please follow the below steps to try to resolve it:

1.  Please ensure that the correct currency is displayed (for UK deliveries, select £ GBP, for US deliveries, select $ USD, for Ireland, Europe, and the Rest of the world, select € EUR)

2.  Clear your browsing history and cache on the device you are using

3. Try using an alternative browser (e.g. If you are using Chrome, try using Microsoft Edge)

4. If possible, try using an alternative device for your order.

There is a fault with my product, what do I do?
  • If you purchased the product from the TanOrganic website, please contact info@tanorganic.com. Please also provide your order number and include photographs of the fault. 
  • If you purchased the product from a pharmacy or salon, please bring the product and receipt back to the place of purchase. Feel free to contact us on the above email if you have any questions.

Is your website secure?

Security is extremely important to us, our Website has security measures in place to protect the loss, misuse and alteration of the information under our control. Certain areas of our site use industry standard SSL to encrypt sensitive data, such as your billing address details. We record IP address of persons submitting orders to aid fraud prevention and will disclose any information necessary to fully co-operate with law enforcement authorities in investigating suspected lawbreakers. For your added security all payment pages are hosted and processed by Stripe which means that we don't hold records of your credit card details.

What is your returns policy?

We hope that you love your TanOrganic products, but it’s okay if you change your mind and don’t open them. According to the Consumer Rights Directive, you have the right to a 14 day cooling off period. This means that you can return any products purchased so long as they are unopened, unused and in the condition in which you received them within 14 days of your order being made.

Should product/s arrive damaged or faulty, we will repair, replace or exchange the product/s when you contact us about the issue within 7 days of receiving your package.

 Any products you wish to return, whether it is within the 14-day cooling-off period or if they are faulty or damaged, must be returned to us within 14 days of delivery.

 For any faulty or damaged products, TanOrganic will assist in facilitating the return free of charge. If you are being issued a refund, we will refund the monetary value of the goods returned to us including the delivery charges you incurred when you ordered. Please note that we will refund back to the original method of payment charged only (e.g. credit card, debit card, Paypal) and this will take 2-5 days depending on the bank.

Please note if there is no fault with the product/s, it is the responsibility of the customer to ensure the goods are returned safely to us via a postal or courier service. This cost must be covered by the customer.  If you are being issued a refund, we will refund the monetary value of the goods returned to us less the delivery charges you incurred when you ordered.
